Mobile Website Design Services

We live in a world of constant connectivity, where billions of people use their mobile devices to access the web, searching for products, services, and information … and expect to find what they’re looking for. They are on the go and action-oriented:

  • 77% of mobile device owners use a search engine weekly.
    (Ipsos OTX, 2011)
  • 81% of mobile searches are driven by convenience and speed.
    (Google Analytics, 2013)
  • And 1 in 2 searches on Google, Yahoo!, or Bing eventually result in a sale, 88% within 24 hours.
    (Ipsos OTX, 2011)
  • 67% of mobile users are more likely to buy a site’s product or service if the page is mobile friendly.
    (Google Analytics, 2013)

But a one-size-fits-all website cannot meet the expectations of mobile device users. It takes too long to load and is too clunky, or even impossible, to navigate.

Unless your site has been redesigned or reformatted specifically for a mobile device, it is frustrating potential customers and even driving them into the arms of your competitors.

1. Loading Time

People who browse the web on their mobile devices are pressed for time, even impatient. They get online for a specific purpose – to pay the bills, read product reviews, or find an address of a local business – and want quick results.

  • 74% of mobile device users expect web pages to load in 3 seconds or less (Compuware).
  • 40% of mobile users abandon a web page that takes more than 3 seconds to load (KISSmetrics, 2011).

The best features of a traditional site are the exact things that make your mobile visitors wait: hefty images, bulky videos, and massive sliding banners. In fact, the average web page takes more than 7 seconds to load on a mobile device—more than twice as long as a mobile visitor is willing to wait (Google Analytics, 2013).

Loading time is a money killer. Your heavy website is scaring away potential clients.

2. Usability

A mobile device is about one-tenth the size of a PC. (After all, it’s a phone. It’s designed to fit inside your pocket.) And since form follows function, it is difficult if not impossible to browse a traditional site on a mobile device. The text is too small to read. The logo fills the entire screen. The “Buy Now” button is hard to find. Even the drop down menu cannot be accessed.

Your thumbs were not made to navigate tiny web pages—squeezed together to fit on a pint-sized screen.

People who browse the web on their mobile device look for an experience that looks and feels mobile. So when your traditional website does not display properly on a mobile device, it is really frustrating.

  • 96% have encountered sites that were “clearly” not designed for mobile devices (Google Analytics, 2013).
  • 61% will quickly move on to another site if they do not find what they were looking for immediately on a mobile site (Google Analytics, 2013).

Without a mobile-friendly site, you are frustrating potential clients and valued customers … and pushing them to your competition.
